el mejor ejemplo a sus hijos a través del deporte. Ellos son el motor que me impulsa;
historia. Agradezco infinitamente a mis hijos, a mi pareja, a mis padres y a
a cuestiones monetarias.

Thank you for reading!
I do not want to
live with the feeling of I did not do enough. Since I plan to attend the
Triathlon World Championship in Abu Dabi, United Arab Emirates, I was aware
that I was setting myself a high and difficult but not unattainable goal.
Like any story,
the degree of complexity to achieve a dream is determined by the factor that
triggers it: in my case, it is the economic one. Following the recommendations
of many friends and colleagues of this sport who have managed to fulfill their
desires and goals, I decided to put aside my shy and sorrow and bet for the
good will of the people who support the sport. They know the implications and
the great honor and privilege of represent a country in any international
competition, it is a BIG DREAM.
I am not a professional
athlete, but I am a proudly father of 3 kids also focused on setting the best
example for these children through sports. They are the engine that drives me;
there love, trust and determination make me strive every day to give my best in
everything I do.
Without any
doubt, the unconditional support of my family has been fundamental in this
story. I am infinitely grateful to my children, my partner, my parents, and my
siblings for always having been there, supporting me and acknowledging the
effort I make to instill a love of sport in everyone around me.
For those who
don't know how I came up with this dream, I'll tell you a little about my
journey. The first time I crossed the finish line of an Olympic distance
Triathlon was in 2014 in Valle de Bravo. For some reason, my coach at the time
felt and that she should introduce me to this sport.
Believe me, it
was a competition that I suffered, but I suffered seriously, and at the same
time I enjoyed horrors. Back then my swimming technique was not the best and I
lost my goggles between kicks; the bike I rode was built for flat rides and my
shoes had to be worn with socks, not doing so I ended up with some amazing
blisters like never before. But the feeling I experienced when crossing the
finish line was so magical and indescribable that it lit a chip inside me
always tell me: I want to feel this forever.
The dream of
participating in a World Triathlon is not easy. Qualifying in a country where
you have great full-time dedicated athletes required a lot of dedication and
effort. Although in my mind I was qualifying in the 50-54 category, last
November, in the ITU Continental Cup that took place in La Paz, Baja California
Sur, I managed to qualify in the 45-49 category with a third place, taking the
first step towards this dream with a message from my coach: “Lalo, you are
qualified for the World Cup in Abu Dhabi, Olympic distance.”
I remember that
on one occasion some friends who practice this sport brought me a cap from the
Chicago World Cup, if I remember well, it was in 2015, and when they gave it to
me, they said, “we want to see you in the next world cup”. Since that day I
dreamed of qualifying, although I never imagined that I would have to travel so
far, the most I could visualize was that I would have to attend a European
country. However, this adventure takes me to a more distant place that will
surely have considerable challenges, such as, among other things, the heat.
I humbly request
your help with a monetary contribution to achieving this dream, is making very
difficult for me and any contribution is appreciated no matter his size.
Therefore, if you got to until this part of the reading and you are able to
help me in some way: A million thanks!
Your empathy will be of great support to me. I leave you four options
through which you can contribute to this cause, any penny counts, and it will
have the same value for us, Thanks to you in advance.
We are going for
that dream of representing Mexico at the international level.
